ReplyDeleteSteve Eagle here.I am taking this class in addition to the CAD class at the vo-tech to get my associat of design. I haven't taken many classes since I graduated way back when so I hope things come back without much trouble. I graduated in 1988 from ACCHS and have been working for aliving ever since. Let me say it sucks but it beats the alternative. I work at MGP here in town. The money is good but the hours aren't. I work midnight to 8 am if I'm lucky, 60 hours last week. I have 2 kids Matt and Andrea, a wife Rhonda and 3 dogs. I enjoy the outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping, boating, etc) and my kids activities football, volleyball baseball and bowling. As you can see my plate is full. Sleep is overated. CU Thurs.

ReplyDeleteI'm Leslie Shaw and will start my last year at Highland in the fall. Algebra is my weakest subject so I decided to take it over the summer so I would only have this one class to focus on. Hopefully it works out! :) I plan on going to Emporia after, majoring in Elem. Education.

ReplyDeleteI'm Jessica LaBarbera and currently a student at Missouri Western. I'm majoring in music education and math is NOT my strong point. I work fulltime at Taco Johns here in Atchison. After graduating I plan on going to KU to pursue a doctorate in Music Therapy.
Hello College Algebra class, this is Stephanie Wood. I am currently approaching my senior year at Maur Hill Mount Academy. I only took one college class so far so i lack experience in that regard. I love math and plan to major in mathematics and business in college in the future. Algebra is entertaining to me and I love the challenge of solving the problems even though most of them are easy. I have lived in Atchison, KS all of my life. My hobbies include computer graphic and website design, crafting, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, exploring nature, and photography. I am also a member of 4H in Jefferson County. Currently college preperation is on top of my mind. I am taking this class not because I fear I might fail it elsewhere, but because I want to get it out of the way so I can take as much math classes available when I hit college.

ReplyDeleteMy name is Eric West and I am currently an on campus student at Highland. I am taking summer classes so that I can get associate of science and an associate of arts in the same two years. I took college algebra on campus with Mr. Hurn, but lets just say we didn't see eye to eye. Heck i don't think we even looked in the same direction. I think one of us is from mars. I'm from columbus kansas so i don't think it's me, lol. I feel a little better about this class already, hopefully i continue to feel that way. I'm not brain dead when it comes to math I just need a little more direction than most other classes is all.

ReplyDeleteI'm Brandee Falk and attending Highland then off to BC to become a special education teacher. I have 3 children 13, 10, and 6yrs. they do take up lots of my time this is why I have chosen to to take College Algebra in the summer, to give myself more time to study. My plan is to finish with my Associate's in a 1 1/2years.
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm Maggie Robohn & attend KU for nursing, I REALLY hate math sooo I've put off this class the past 2 years, & it's one of the few classes I need before I start the nursing program. I graduated from JCN in 2008. I love traveling, music, anything to do with sports, and summer! I hate math so much that I convinced my friend to take this class with me to keep me sane :)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Luana Schneider and I am from Atchison. I am taking this class because I agreed to take a summer class with my two sons. I have spent the last 2 1/2 years in San Antonio, TX with my son Scott who was wounded in Iraq in Nov of 2006. My family is the most important thing in this world to me and this is a way for us to be close and bond..(or kill each other....wait till finals!!) LOL

I'm taking this class because my big brother is taking it too and I thought it would be fun since I've never had a class with him and all, plus I have a study partner always handy. I'm the clumsiest person alive and addicted to fishing. :)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Scott Stephenson, I am a retired Army Sgt. I was injured in Iraq in Nov of 2006. I am taking this class to re-integrate myself into college. I will be attending Benedictine College this fall. I plan on getting my degree in Business Admin with a minor in Accounting. My goal is to open a night club based off of one of the top clubs in the United States which is based in Anchorage AK.

ReplyDeleteHey, My name is Kristina Kramer and i am currently a student at Washburn University where i will get my bsn for nursing and eventually end up at ku to become a nurse anthesist. I was planing on taking this class next spring but a friend convinced me to drive an hour and take it with her and since math isnt my strong subject i agreed to take it now and get it out of the way. I graduated from Jefferson County North HS in 2008.
